The airline’s authorized agent must strictly comply with U6 requirements for the storage of live animals:

1. storage and any handling may be carried out only by qualified personnel;
2. do not disturb the animals except in cases provided for in this Manual;
3. all operations must be minimised:
   • pre-shipment operations;
   • transit and transfer operations;
   • delivery to customs operations;
4. the animal must be kept in the appropriate live-animal storage facility in accordance with live animal storage rules:
   • the required air temperature must be maintained;
   • necessary cleaning and disinfection procedures must be performed;
   • containers must be cleaned and animals fed, while animals must not come into contact with other animals;
   • all technical equipment and aircraft must be cleaned and disinfected;
   • relevant disinfection records must be retained.

Attention. A container with a live animal may be placed in storage prior to loading onto the aircraft or prior to delivery to the consignee; in such cases all animal storage requirements must be observed. Local storage rules must be strictly followed.

The consignee must collect the cargo addressed to them no later than 3 hours after the aircraft’s arrival at the destination airport.
