Oversized cargo

Oversized cargo - cargo, the dimensions of one place of which exceed the overall dimensions of loading hatches and cargo compartments of passenger aircraft on which the transportation is carried out. In AK, oversized cargo is considered to be cargo with the maximum units L * W * H equal to 300 * 100 * 100 cm, respectively.

Oversized cargo must be agreed with the carrier through authorized persons - OOGP specialists. The reservation system must indicate the IMP code. The dispatch of such cargo must be booked, agreed and confirmed to the final destination. The dimensions of each seat must be indicated in the reservation request. Oversized cargo must be entered in the transport documentation and in operational messages with the BIG IMP code.

Before accepting oversized cargo, the OOGP JSC Ural Airlines specialists must verify that all the formalities necessary for this route are completed in order to be sure that:

  1. no limits are exceeded;
  2. there is the necessary ground handling equipment and labor;
  3. loading and unloading can be carried out according to the schedule while the aircraft is stationary on the ground.

At airports included in the loading and unloading plan, a request is sent in advance to receive their consent to accept the goods. The request should contain the following minimum information to enable them to assess loading and unloading requirements:

  1. weight of each unit;
  2. the dimensions of each unit (L x W x H) in clearly specified units;
  3. other useful information regarding the handling of the cargo, such as a description of the cargo, its general shape and how it can be lifted. Before sending, you must obtain confirmation from the relevant airport (or airports) that you are ready to accept the goods.

When transporting bulky cargo, the location, weight of the cargo and the bulky cargo code (IMP-code BIG), for example BIG / AB / 2000, are indicated in the corresponding column of the summary loading list of the aircraft.

Attention Oversized cargo should be transported as follows: the cargo should be placed on the horizontal surface of the BGO floor and secured with mooring belts. Installation of all, without exception, dividing and door nets provided for by the aircraft structure is mandatory. It is not allowed to outweigh the grids at the attachment points not intended for this purpose. In exceptional cases, when the dimensions of the loaded cargo do not allow placing it within the same section, it is allowed to remove the standard separation grids, while the entire load located on both sides of the separation grid must be individually secured (for fastening options, see Chapter 5, paragraph. 5.2 p. 6).

When individually mooring using additional mooring means, standard separation and door nets should also be installed, however, if individual loading points cannot be located within the same section and secured using standard separation nets, it is allowed to remove the separation nets provided that:

  • any items located in sections on both sides of the retractable mesh are individually secured using additional mooring equipment;
  • in the compartments located on both sides of the cleaned separation grid, there are no loose objects left.
